THE COUNTRY
Let's start with the not so obvious. What many people don't know (myself included) about this country is that there are a lot of inventors and inventions that came out of the country. The Rubik's Cube was invented by Ernő Rubik in 1974. The ballpoint pen or biro was invented by László Bíró in 1938. Joseph Petzval invented binoculars amongst other things. The list goes on and on. From automobiles, technology, medicine, and equipment just to name a few, the Hungarians show no signs of slowing down as there are still inventions coming out of the country as of late.
Budapest is the capital of Hungary, a city considered to be the most attractive spot in the country for tourists to visit. Split by the Danube River, the city's impressive architectural landmarks, delicious food, night life, and the relaxing thermal baths would makes this city appealing to many. Just like Czech Republic, Hungary is a budget friendly country for European standards making it that much more attractive to visit.
VISA/ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Before entering the country, ensure that your passport is valid for at least 3 months after your departure date from Hungary.
Most passport holders are able to obtain a 90 day tourist visit at a no cost. This is a part of the Schengen Zone so penalties for getting caught for overstaying may vary. The penalty can be in a form of a fine, deportation, or a ban from all of the countries that is in the Schengen Area.

Hungarian Forint is the currency in Hungary. ATM's are available everywhere. Debit and credit cards are also widely accepted everywhere.

THINGS TO DO
Széchenyi Thermal Bath (Budapest) - A must do when you're here once or several times.

Ruin Pubs (Budapest) - There are a lot of cool pubs with a lively nightlife in the city. Abandoned places turned into awesome, oddly decorated and creative pubs. Szimpla Kert and Instant I highly recommend going to.
Heroe's Square (Budapest) - Take a stroll here and see the monuments.
Vajdahunyad Castle (Budapest) - A photogenic castle worth visiting.
Hungarian Parliament Building (Budapest) - The most gothic parliament building I've ever seen. Very picturesque and a hot popular landmark for tourists to see.
Fisherman's Bastion (Budapest) - To avoid the crowd you need to come here super early. It's worth catching the sunrise here and having the castle all to yourself.
Gellert Hill (Budapest) - A short walk up to a viewpoint with a bridge view.
Matthias Church (Budapest) - One beautiful church next to Fisherman's Bastion.
Budapest Castle Hill (Budapest) - Go up here to soak in the views.

St. Stephen's Basilica (Budapest) - You need to go inside this church and appreciate the beauty of it just as much on the inside.
